Twitter is a reach-machine.

Here are some stats from my December engagement:

1 million impressions is no joke. Yes, they're just impressions. But impressions lead to followers and link clicks and subscribers.

And at my current 7,316 followers at the time of this writing, that's about ~150 impressions for every 1 follower. More followers = more impressions = more traffic to Swipe Files.

But the real evidence isn't in the data, it's anecdotal.

The fact is that Twitter is the starting point for all my projects. My personal site, Swipe Files, Refactoring Growth, Mental Models For Marketing, Hey Marketers... they all got initial traction through Twitter. Twitter is what built the email list for each one and continues to be what drives a majority of the traffic.
